Families and farmers in northwest Michigan are facing economic challenges of historic scale as the impact of COVID-19 washes over our region.
INCREDIBLE! This community has risen to occasion and met our third goal! Please keep donating by using a DONATE NOW button. All donations will be used as intended to do so much good. THANK YOU!
In response, Groundwork has launched the Local Food Relief Fund. Your gift today will assist farmers and families throughout northwest Michigan with the urgent help they need. The Fund you’re helping to create will immediately purchase food from local farmers to feed local families through regional food pantries.
Local food purchases help to keep small farm families financially solvent while also providing nutritionally dense food to the people of Northwest Lower Michigan. Local purchases also keep dollars in our region, resulting in multiple positive economic ripple effects.
Learn more at the FAQ tab above.
Be part of the solution our farmers and families need. DONATE NOW to help exceed the goal!

Please adjust web site colors. I cannot read these comments as i type. The links above to description, FAQs, etc are really hard to read – almost looks like yellow on white. I want to share this info with others, but it is very hard to find.

Thanks for the heads up, Brian. We made it more legible. Appreciate your help!

This is a great idea. Do you mind sharing which Emmet County farmers you will be using?
Thank you!!
Bill Latka
Hi DJ! That is to be determined in the coming weeks. In order to match what the pantries need and can accept, we have a survey going out to farmers to see what they have. Contact [email protected] for more info.

I have tried repeatedly today to make a contribution to this fund. It is not accepting me trying to create an account. How can I donate when the site won’t let me. Do you have a phone # to call?

We received your comment about having trouble making a donation. Feel free to call Miriam at 231-941-6584 ext. 703, and she would be happy to help you make a donation!

I join others in requesting a list of participating farmers, by county. I am a Emmet County resident. If you are not working with our local farmers, I will be disappointed.

All the farmers are in Northwest Michigan! The list is still growing, but they’ll all be local.
